These Are The Weekend Habits Of Highly Successful People

I’ve read countless of articles about successful people. Who they are, what makes them successful and how they got there. Ever wondered what they do on the weekend? Spoiler: they treat it like any other day.

Anna Wintour: stay Active

The editor-in-chief of Vogue doesn’t sit on her butt all weekend. She commits to playing tennis at least one hour every day, because she knows the importance of an active body and an active mind to stay creative – and that includes the weekend. It’ll also help you burn off that bag of chips and glass of wine we all know you couldn’t resist.

Steve Jobs: prioritize

According to mastermind Steve Jobs, weekends are the time to focus on the forgotten things, to keep your work life and personal life in harmony. Spending time with your kids, partner or family might seem counter-productive because it doesn’t generate any money, but it’ll keep you sane in the long run – we all need some quality time with the people we love, right?

“You can want success all you want, but to get it, you can’t falter. You can’t slip. You can’t sleep. One eye open, for real, and forever.” – Jay-Z

Oprah: practice stillness

20 minutes of stillness, twice a day. That’s what Oprah does – and she’s right. Even the corporate world is acknowledging that meditation and taking breaks are important for both mental and physical health. Mindfulness reduces stress, increases productivity and makes you more creative. Take time every day to be more mindful, weekends included.

Bill Gates: the weekend is for reflection

Bill Gates is one of my all-time favorite people, and I agree with him that the weekend is a time to reflect back on the week. “It’s fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure”, the Microsoft founder once said. Weekends are a perfect opportunity to take a step back and look back on your week, making sure you’re improving the next. Over and over, until you can be proud of yourself and prove everyone wrong.

Jay-Z: keep it up

Jay-Z didn’t become a successful rapper, entrepreneur and multi-milionair because he worked 9-5 from Monday to Friday. He worked incredibly hard, and now gets to spend his days with Beyoncé and $500 million dollars in the bank. Be persistent and work hard – even if that means working two, three or even four jobs. You’ll get there.
